Dr Priyaankaa Maathur

I am a Hindustani Classical vocalist.My repertoire includes Khyal,thumri,ghazals and Bhajans.

My journey in music started in Gwalior gharana under the able guidance of my mother Smt.Chhabi Mathur and my nana Guruji Pt.Mahadev Deshpandeji under whom I accomplished Sangeet Visharad from Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya,New Delhi.Following which I Iearnt the intricacies of Kirana Gharana from Pt.Jagdish Mohanji under whom I accomplished Sangeet Alankar.

I feel absolutely fortunate to further enhance my knowledge of Indian classical music having learnt from late Ustad Aslam Hussain Khan Saheb in Mumbai in Jaipur Atrauli,Agra and Khurja gharana for almost 8 years. Before him had learnt from Ganasaraswati Smt. Kishori Amonkarji for a couple of years and also from Shalmalee Joshiji (Jaipur Atrauli tradition ) in Mumbai.

I have been an impaneled artist by ICCR Delhi since 2005 and a Scholarship Holder by Sahitya Kala Parishad in the field of Hindustani Classical Vocal Music in 2005.Submitted Ph.D in Delhi University in 2017.
